Digital Natives, Digital Immigrants

Educators do need to keep up to date and trained in using technology.  Technology is like clothing and slang, it changes frequently.  Children in the 21st century do have a different way of learning and we have to accommodate those learning styles.  My students love when I use technology to teach.  They also enjoy using the technology themselves.  Technology is what they are use to .  As in the article "Just Do It", educators need to get use to using technology and also absolutely needs support from parents and the administrators.

I agree that we should "Just do it" when it comes to technology. You're right - our kids do love techie stuff. But my old brain struggles with technology sometimes so I don't use it as often as I should.

This article was very intersting. It gave a title to our genteration!!! We definitely have to learn technology to teach today's children, and we absolutely need to educate their parents on the use of technology to help them be successful. I know my brain is in that stage where new things are stored way at the back. I am trying to catch on, but it would have been much easier 25 years ago!

I agree as well. Technology enhances instruction. It engages students' attention on a much higher level.
